IWS Flood & Drain – Funktionsweise
Die Steuereinheit, auch „Brain“ genannt, flutet das System zu vorgegebenen Fütterungszeiten, die vom Benutzer festgelegt werden. Die integrierten Schwimmerschalter schalten das Fluten automatisch ab, sobald der exakte Wasserstand in den Töpfen erreicht ist. Nach Ablauf der Fütterungszeit pumpen die Ablasspumpen überschüssige Nährlösung schnell und leise zurück in das Reservoir, wobei die Lösung gleichzeitig wieder mit Sauerstoff angereichert wird.
Das Brain
Die IWS Steuereinheit, auch als Brain bekannt, ist das Herzstück jedes IWS Systems und macht es wirklich „intelligent“.
Der Timer
Das System wird mit einem 1-Minuten-Timer geliefert, der am Brain angeschlossen wird.
So funktioniert es
Zu den eingestellten Fütterungszeiten wird die Nährlösung aus dem Tank in das Brain gepumpt, welches die Töpfe flutet. Die Pflanzen nehmen die Lösung auf und abgestandene Luft wird aus dem Wurzelbereich gedrückt. Am Ende der Fütterungszeit wird die Lösung zurück in das Wasserfass gepumpt, wodurch der pH-Wert ausgeglichen und der Wurzelbereich erneut mit Sauerstoff versorgt wird. Es handelt sich um ein vollautomatisches System, sodass Sie sicher sein können, dass Ihre Pflanzen stets optimal versorgt sind – auch wenn Sie mal nicht vor Ort sind.
Funktionen
- Drehregler – Stellen Sie Ihre gewünschte Fütterungsdauer von 1 bis 60 Minuten ein, mit der Möglichkeit, die Fütterung jederzeit abzubrechen.
- Power-LED – Leuchtet, wenn das System eingeschaltet ist.
- Fütterungspumpen-LED – Leuchtet, wenn das System „flutet“.
- Ablauf-LED – Leuchtet, wenn das System „ablässt“.
- Anschlusskabel zum Steuerpot (Brain).
- „O“ (niedrigste Position) übersteuert den Timer und schaltet die Fütterung aus.
- „ “ – Folgt den eingestellten Fütterungsintervallen.
- „I“ – Übersteuert den Timer und schaltet das Gerät dauerhaft ein.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
